36 x 48 inches, Oil on Canvas

This is one in a series of spiritual paintings that I am working on. It is
a depiction of Maitreya, the World Teacher, as the Water Carrier for
the age of Aquarius, which is upon us. The Water Carrier symbolizes
the distribution of divine wisdom, truth and collective consciousness
rather than literal water. The title of this painting is “This is a Gift. Take it”
because it expresses my frustration, after 40 years of sharing this
hopeful message with the public, that we are so jaded and cynical and
wrapped up in our extreme obsession with materiality and upholding
the horrendous imbalance between the rich and poor that we cannot
see the change settling down upon us and we reject the gift.
